MURMUR opens its doors to emerging voices in art, design and spatial practice.
With this open call, we invite artists, curators, experience designers and creators who are developing, shifting or testing new work, to activate our space in the heart of Ghent.
We will provide assistance & coaching to help you refine your concept, manage your budget & make the right strategic choices to help make your project a success.
Whether you are showing work for the first time, developing a curatorial vision, or launching a product or series through a pop-up, we aim to offer time & space to help your project take its next step.

1. there is no maximum age limit, but the participant & their practice should be starting or developing in nature.
2. Participants who have a professionalised practice, will always need to contribute fees for the usage of our space, regardless of entering through this open call or not.
3. Any artist or project that receives public funding, can be requested to include the standard rental fees & comissions for MURMUR in their subsidized budget.
4. Any use or activity that is commercial in nature, can be asked to contribute a part of their revenue to cover some of the operational costs of their project. Transparent conditions will be
5. Murmur maintains the right to deny or cancel projects, before or after initial acceptance.
5. Murmur selects projects & people based on parameters that are subjective in nature.
6. While MURMUR will not impose on creative liberty, we may always demand to adapt the scope, timing & nature of your project or event, to make it fit our space, calendar & audience best.
7. Activities or content which exclude or target people based on gender, ethnicity, ability, political alignment or identity, are explicitally not permitted. Respect for our team, for our visitors is both given & expected.
